Hi Again,
thanks for the responses.  Though I ended up writting a wrapper around 
authconfig.  (Yes, it will probrubly break when/if authconfig get's upgraded, 
but I'll figure out what to do then.)
Just so ya'll know, it seems that most people deal with changing the pam.d 
files on lots of machines by having rpm's with the correct configuration.  I 
myself did/do that for our release based on RedHat 6.1.  But it just got way 
to messy with different configurations, and on top of that we are going to 
start using kerberos for authentication, which threw one more problem in the 
mix.  Since authconfig (with RedHat 7.1) fixed the kerberos problem, I wanted 
to keep it in the picture.
Anyway, if anyone want's a copy of the rpm I wrote, I can get it to you, but I 
really didn't feel it appropriate to send to this list.
