Make sure that you never set the Lana Number:
With the latest patch of Win 2000 you shouldn't have to worry about
choosing the proper LANA # and I recommend you not doing it. Once you
choose a LANA number you either have to un-install AFS or remove the
registry entry :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\TransarcAFSDaemon\LANadapter=

Look into the Cell DB file (default=3D.\WINNT\afsdcell.ini).
Remove these lines:
# This file must change to specify a cell.
# The "511.01.01.01" represents an IP address.
>PutCellNameHere=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 # CellName =

511.01.01.01=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 #DBServerMachineName1
511.02.02.02=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 #DBServerMachineName2
511.03.03.03=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 #DBServerMachineName3
Note: if you un-install v1.0.4a you may damage the Netbios settings and
either restore the NetBT registry or re-install TCP/IP.
