I'm interested in keeping the Windows GUI to simplify tasks, but can =
someone tell me if the GUI has been used in Linux? I've got a Linux box =
running KDE that I'd love to have the same type of GUI AFS client on for =
admin and user stuff. I haven't tried it yet, and haven't caught in the =
mail list whether in fact the Linux is all text or whether there's a GUI =
for X.

Me. Not to support Window, but for inhouse-compatibility.
Windows should die, but as long as it exists it is nice to have AFS =
there :)

Hmm, well, not really. We're integrating AFS and there are a lot of
difficulties with other UNIX-tools over the years. Main problem is
that AFS only supports ACLs on directories, not for single files.
This means you have to move some files to protection-directories and
doing some symlinks afterwards. Not a real problem, but ugly :)
