[OpenAFS] OpenSSH and AFS Authentication failure

Hi,

I'm running OpenSSH 3.1p1-5 on a redhat 7.1 alpha box, along with
OpenAFS 1.2.6-rh7.1.1.  Everything works great, except that when I ssh
into the box the PAM module reports "pam_afs:  AFS Authentication failed
for user <user>, password was incorrect".  For users who have valid
passwords in the passwd file, this means that you can log in but must
klog manually.  Otherwise you can't even get logged in.

This problem appears to be isolated to openssh, as other services
(login, ftp, telnet) work fine.

Anyone else experience similar problems, and if so any solutions?
