[OpenAFS] Problem with large data transfer (WinNT AFS, please HELP!)

We tried several methods to copy files (not sure about xcopy), including
perl scripts and home-made executable (with copyfile() calls).

Anyway, even with explorer we don't have troubles in 'prepare' phase
(except some (significant) delay). We are able to start copying and
transfer significant amount of data (>1GB) at every attempt.

Than everything goes wrong during copy of small file (typically gif image)
:-(( At this point (during timeout) there is high CPU usage (at client
side) and AFS seems to be unavailable ('fs checks' from 'cmd' returns
message like '... AFS service not running ...').
