NFSv4 doesn't have an automounter.  It doesn't even have a mount protocol.

The server does have a way to tell the client that an object has moved, and
can give a list of places it might have moved to.  I think the hope is that
some kind of sane name space can be built on this mechanism, but so far
nothing has been implemented.

I think it was a big mistake not to put a global name space into NFSv4, but
then what do I know?
