Hello:

First, we apologize if this is not the appropriate forum for this
message, but we're proceeding on the advice of someone
in the AFS development community. If this isn't the appropriate forum, we'd
appreciate someone pointing us in the right direction.

We're a small IT services firm using AFS, and we're in need of someone with
Win32 development experience who has some knowledge of the AFS Windows
client internals.
We want to make some relatively minor changes in the client to accommodate
our use, and expect the changes to take a couple of days for someone with
the appropriate skills. We'd like to find one right person and contract them
for a paid short-term project. We're devising a statement of work and have a
spec / set of deliverables. Again, a summary of the requirements are:

1.) Extensive Windows development experience + experience building the AFS
win32 client from source.

2.) Familiarity with the low-level functioning of the client,
particularly authentication, the 'fs' subsystem and associated commands.

3.) Proficiency with Windows networking.

4.) Possession of the appropriate development platform and software. (We do
not have the development environment).

5.) Reasonable Internet access for exchange of files/information with us.
(This short project doesn't require the developer to be on site, they can be
anywhere in the world)

Ideally, if the developer and the general community feel that the changes
are useful to the community, we'd encourage them to try to fold them into
the main source. If you think you may be the right person, or know someone
else who might be interested in this task, please reply directly or feel
free to forward this message.

We can be reached at infrastructure@skyrope.com. Thanks in advance.
