[OpenAFS] afsperf / Extremely poor create & delete performance

Afsperf is working, now, but (!) not against every server... on our old
Alpha system it passed every test. Using one of our production servers it
shows:

./afsfsperf -host i44d2 -volume 536872041 -authlevel 3
afs low-level fileserver performance tester
[...]
gettime   2000 times :      3390 msec    589.908 operations/s
afsfsperf: RXAFS_MakeDir returned 4103

I almost do not dare to ask for help...

Some hints: both servers and client use AFS 1.2.8 and rh 7.3 (server), rh
8.0 (client), I do have a klog.krb admin token. No network probs (i.e.
firewalls, nat, bad router/cable).
Moving the volume back to the old alpha box makes afsfsperf working, again.
I have tried all 3 Linux servers; all the same. Creating a new volume does
not help.

Bye, Ruby

PS: translate_et 4103 == 4103 (p).7 = Unknown code p 7 (4103)
