I'm having troubles with speed of OpenAFS on Windows. I know it is slower
with the Windows client but how much slower it really is for you?
I've done some testing with "iozone". Samples of the results are bellow.
I was really surprised to see the 500Kbytes/s on Windows XP comparing to
7000Kbytes/s on Linux.
Is this the right speed or should I look for an error?
Thank you
lukas
The conditions were:
- - 1.2.9 version of OpenAFS clients
- - 100Mbit network (both clients used the same route to access the server)
- - 90MB cache on clients
- - 300MB RAM on Linux, 256MB on Windows
- - Pentium III processors on clients
- - the server is Dell server with RAID5, 2GB RAM, Debian Linux
