Hi all,
when setting up openafs on a newly installed system (SuSE 8.1 on PIV
hyperthreading) I got the folloing error:
# /etc/init.d/afs start
Starting AFS services.....
afsd: No check server daemon in client.
afsd: All AFS daemons started.
afsd: Can't mount AFS on /afs(22)
First I installed openafs-1.2.8 form my tar-ball, which is working on
other (dual PIII) systems with the same kernel.
Recompiling openafs-1.2.8 or compiling 1.2.9a didn't help me.
In fact I get real crashes instead:
# /etc/init.d/afs start
Starting AFS services.....
/etc/init.d/afs: line 292: 1191 Segmentation fault
/usr/vice/etc/afsd ${AFSD_OPTIONS}
Some part were started, though:
# ps uax
...
root 1193 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_rxlistener]
root 1195 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_callback]
root 1197 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? DW 16:05 0:00 [afs_rxevent]
root 1199 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afsd]
root 1202 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_background]
root 1204 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_checkserver]
root 1205 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_background]
root 1207 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? SW 16:05 0:00 [afs_background]
Has there been any conclusion on the reason of/solution to the first error
which has been discussed earlier in this list.
Any other suggestions how to fix this?
