I don't think the current linux nfsv4 client has pags. The OpenBSD client doesn't. They aren't necessary, just convenient. We (citi) would be very much interested in a pag implementation for linux that could be used for both afs and nfs. I don't see why a pag would need to be file system specific. I'm not even convinced the creds need to be, but I'm willing to believe it.
