   What we're using consists of patches to the CMU balancer; it's been a
while since I've looked at it, but my recollection of what we did was to
add an additional agent which was an extension of the "byweekuse" agent
that looked at weekuse weighted by volume size.  We also have a code to
dynamically generate the configuration file for the balancer based on a
common list of servers used by all our services and information from the
budb about what servers have been backed up recently.

  If you're interested in either of these things you're welcome to them,
although the latter is moderately site specific.
