11862788 (ktc).4 = a pioctl failed

The path to translate_et may be different on your machine.

What that means, I'm not sure. Is the OpenAFS client running
on on the machine you are trying the aklog on?  What happens 
when you run "aklog -d" (which will give you some verbose 
output as it tries to do things).
