Could you still set up a 2nd fileserver using openafs+SL4.5 with the
ubik bug?
If the volumes could be vos moved to another server, that leaves the DB
server data. Assuming some downtime was ok, would it be possible to
shutdown the DB server, copy the DB files to another server with the
same IP and start the server back up? Is the format of the DB data files
compatible between IBM AFS on windows and Openafs on Linux? If not, is
there a way to convert the files or dump and import them?
does the ubik bug prevent a master from being elected in all case when
more than one server is involved?
I'm just trying to think of other options.
