Hi!

One of our fileservers died with a broken harddrive.
Following one of our clients on windoiws has a problem.

Setup: Win XP SP3, OpenAFS 1.5.55 with dynroot, obtain tokens on login.
I use a domain policy to redirect "Application Data" and "Documents And
Settings" into directories in AFS space.
For the user, those both looks like "offline folders" - which is kinda
strange and does not work for skype, but it helps with profiles getting
to big.

The user redirected \\AFS\cgv.tugraz.at to Z:\

The problem: in explorer while the mouse waits over a path, windows
tries to calculate the size of directory which will be shown in a
tooltip. While hoovering over a directory which inherits a mountpoint of
the dead server, Windows sets the "Offline Folders" to offline, break
the connection and skype dies.
Afterwards the user has to explicit manually sync offline folders with
the AFS directory to access the AFS filespace again.

Does this looks like a Windows error or OpenAFS error?

MfG,
Lars Schimmer
