A debian linux web server that I maintain has started to log many
thousands of the following error every day:

afs_get_hash_stats: Warning! exceeded max bucket len 36

=2E..approaching 100,000/day actually.

In the last couple of days I started seeing a more interesting kernel
error on this box. I'm uncertain whether the issue is hardware or
software related, but the openafs module is featured prominently in the
"Call Trace":

afs_get_hash_stats: Warning! exceeded max bucket len 39
afs_get_hash_stats: Warning! exceeded max bucket len 41
BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#1!

See http://pastebin.com/m397eccb for the full call trace (including
several more .

kernel is 2.6.18-6-amd64
openafs client version is 1.4.2-6etch1 (it's a debian box)

Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Ben
