[OpenAFS] Linux kernel modules for many different kernel revs

How are people handling the management of installing
(and maintaining) OpenAFS on a wide range of Linux boxes
(all RHEL but many with different minor kernel revs)?

Compared to Solaris, it's a nightmare for us.

I haven't looked yet, but is there a --kernel-module-only
configure option?  That would at least allow us to carefully
set up an init script to run before afs.rc which tries to
build the kernel module if one does not exist.
