does any other pts command work? Try "pts listmax"; does that also
hang?  :

No , they all hang. they does not do anything ,just sit there

CellServDB is set correctly?

Also, what version of OpenAFS?

host.cell.local doesn't resolve to a 127.* IP address, does it?

-> it resolve to 10.0.0.21


 cat /etc/hosts

::1             localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
