    <tt>Last night version 1.7.3 was released which fixes as many of the
      outstanding issues that have been reported with sufficient detail
      to reproduce.=C2=A0 <br>
      <br>
      The current known issues are:<br>

      <li>Open a Microsoft Office 2010 document from \\AFS and suspend
        the machine.=C2=A0 Upon resume the document will be in read only
        mode.=C2=A0 This will be fixed in a future release when power mgm=
t
        support is added to the afs redirector.</li>
      <li>A failure loading Group Policy information on 32-bit Vista due
        to a crash in an instance of svchost.exe at boot.=C2=A0 This is b=
eing
        investigated.=C2=A0 Once the cause is identified it will be fixed=
 in
        a future release.</li>
    </ol>
    Missing features:<br>
    <ol>
      <li>Native Heimdal integration.=C2=A0 Requires a fix to the Kerbero=
s
        Compatibility SDK.</li>
    </ol>
    At the recent European AFS Conference and in private e-mail many
    site administrators have indicated that they need the OpenAFS client
    to be stable on Windows 7 no later than March 2012.=C2=A0 In reality =
that
    means to me that OpenAFS 1.8.0 must be released no later than
    mid-January.=C2=A0 This does not leave a lot of calendar time.=C2=A0 =
It is the
    end of the semester and the holidays are a few weeks away.=C2=A0 If y=
our
    organization is planning on relying upon the OpenAFS Windows client,
    please test it thoroughly now.<br>
