Hi,

I am not sure, if this is the right place for sending in this.

I use Debian Squeeze (32bit), a vanilla Linux Kernel 3.04 und installed openafs-modules-source and openafs-client from Debian Testing (1.6.0-1), since the stable version 1.4.12.1+dfsg-4 doesn't compile.

Now the kernel oopses (I have to typewrite the messages from the screen)

insmod openafs
...
Starting AFS cache scan ...
afsd: All AFS daemons started.
BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000001
IP: [<F843FA9B>] afs_xdr_char+0x9/0x4d [openafs]
*pde = 00000000
Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP
Modules linkes in: openafs(P)
Pid: 997, comm: afsd Tainted: P ...
...

The error is the same on 64-bit and 32-bit-Hardware and if memcache is used.
