Its ubuntu 12.0.1 - AFS 1.6.1-1

command was

	backup volrestore -server afsfs4 -part a -vol xxxxxxx -date =
"11/15/2012 00:02" -ext .b -portoffset 1 -localauth

I've been working this issue a few days and this is in a fresh install =
