on simple way would be:

- add a new fileserver to the cell
- 'vos move' all the volumes off the old fileserver to the new fileserver

then you can either leave the old one running, but don't use it....or remove the old fileserver service from the cell.

basically, you don't move the files, you move the volumes.

Subject: [OpenAFS] Move the fileserver to another machine

Hello,

For our first OpenAFS server, we used one machine for host all daemons : files server, database server, ...

Now, we want to move the files server to another machine. Is it difficult to do that, an how ? Can you give us some links and advices ?

Thanks,

Jean-Michel
