Thanks for the information.  Our AFS backups are a little confused right
now, and removing a few large .backup volumes is a quick and easy way to
sidestep the issue.  This issue is due to some mistakes on our backup
server, and is not a problem in OpenAFS itself.  I wanted to be sure I
wouldn't create any *new* problems by removing those few .backup volumes!
