It's also worth noting that without someone actively using and/or caring
about a platform, it is unlikely to receive the attention it would need
in order to remain viable.  I.e., not necessarily just hosting a build
machine, but also noticing when builds fail and following up to get
issues fixed.

Even if we could do cross-architecture emulation and get a free license
for the OS, we'd still need someone to care about having it working.
