Hi there,

I have been using OpenAFS-1_4_1-rc0.dmg since 21/10/2005 from the
openafs site. It works quite well. But I do have some problems.

1) I am primarily building code on a linux cluster. Sometimes I find
that I change a file on the cluster and cannot see the updated file
locally on a powerbook running osx 10.4.3. When I try "fs flushxxx" I
see no effect to the cache. The only way to correct this seems to be:

sudo /Library/StartupItems/OpenAFS/OpenAFS stop
sudo /Library/StartupItems/OpenAFS/OpenAFS start

2) I am also often changing ip numbers: work with an ethernet cable,
close the powerbook, reopen in a wireless network and new ip. In
general, afs seems to work again, but it is often "slow to
recuperate". For example, cd to a directory can cause the window to
freeze for a few minutes. So it seems that the cache is "somewhat
disoriented" after an ip change. Waiting seems to work. It would be
nice if one could somehow be able to "refresh" the cache vis-a-vis
the new ip.

If there is a way to provide more info on this, please let me know.

           thanks, RD Schaffer
