Doug, Frank is here only to help us with technical issues, and can't help
politically. You'll need to arrange through whatever support resources you have
to open a case with Sun.

I don't think that's the case. The ioctl interface (we just create a
pseudo device)
exists and has for years, and the syscall-via-ioctl method is already how we
handle linux and macos.
