I have had some interesting issues with file servers on Solaris 9/sparc,
where the AFS version of fsck did not play along. I think I am a bit closer
to a solution.=20

Remember that there must be no logging on a /viceXX partition, nor on the
cache.=20

In Solaris 9 9/04, just installed, I read this:=20

                      Logging is enabled on any UFS file  system,
                      including  root  (/), except under the fol-
                      lowing conditions:

                         o  When  logging  is  specifically  dis-
                            abled.
				(mount_ufs.1)

So, one must explicitly turn logging of on Solaris 9, at least from 9/04
and on. The last field in the line for the slice in vfstab should read
"nologging", in addition to other options you might want.=20
