I'm not sure what you think the "confusion" is.
Your patch was applied to the trunk at 20-Mar-2005 20:26:19 UTC.
Your patch has not been pulled up to the openafs-stable-1_4_x branch, which
is 1.15.1 in this file.

By being pulled up to the release branch sometime prior to the release.
