You could probably calculate the date with relatively little pain by
looking through the output to "cvs log" and looking for the
newest cvs version with the 1_5_18 tag - and the oldest
version that's post 1_5_18. Make that "one-time pain" with
perl.
You could also probably estimate the timestamp by looking at the
tarballs made for the release process.
