I suppose.  I definitely would never use it for the kaserver at least
until we manage to convert to Kerberos v5.

(a) Linux's syslogd is considerably more robust than that on many other
platforms, and also has the option of writing unbuffered log files.
Solaris's syslogd is notoriously bad.

(b) Our kaserver logs are three times that.
