Around the time of the failed release, there are indeed callback errors:

Thu Aug 8 13:06:19 2002 CB: volume callback for host ab427970.7001 failed
Thu Aug 8 13:06:19 2002 CB: volume callback for host 800c5070.7001 failed

I believe that those are all for the failed release. For the successful
release, there is another flood:

Thu Aug 8 13:08:51 2002 CB: volume callback for host ab42798f.7001 failed

So that does seem to likely be the problem, or at least related.

Is there anything that can be done about it?
