And the kroner has been relatively weak against the dollar.  A "low
budget" cell in the US is:
   $250 -- compgeeks/tigerdirect/whatever surplus/new celeron 700 box,
           or dell gx1, or whatever you like
   $ 99 -- 80G IDE disk
   $  5 -- 10/100 ethernet card.

Duplicate as necessary; thok.org is 2 systems like this as bulk disk
servers (well, it's a little older so it cost a bit more than this,
but these are today's prices), and a third (system I had anyway) for
paranoia and quorum that only has root.* on it.

The usual caveats apply -- linux w/namei server still has the
CopyOnWrite symptom.  But otherwise it's a solid setup; I keep a
debian mirror in a single 30G volume, and a bunch of other data sets
that are backed up or not as needed.  ("vos move" runs at 65-75
megabits/second between the two disk servers, so big volumes are not
that much of an issue...)
