Hello everybody!
I have problems backing up volumes to data files. I have defined the
following volumeset:
# backup listvols
...
Volume set common:
Entry 1: server server01, partition .*, volumes: common.*\.backup
Entry 2: server server02, partition .*, volumes: common.*\.backup
The volumeset contains two volumes, a small one and one as follows:
# vos examine common.ftp
common.ftp 536870921 RW 6604544 K On-line
...
As long as I backup volumesets containing less than 2GB everything
works fine. The backup operation for the above volumeset though
continues until the space on the backup disk is used up (160GB) by
files of 2147483647 bytes size each (76 files).
the backup files do differ:
# md5sum common.month0.4[01]_1032209590
696238571ebff0783337f9908ef801c3 common.month0.40_1032209590
ca70c2cd07dad3c38861fdf4383a1ab3 common.month0.41_1032209590
The backup device is configured as follows:
# cat /usr/afs/backup/tapeconfig
65536m 0 /dev/AFSBACKUP2 2
I had used a tapeconfig file as follows with the same result:
# cat /usr/afs/backup/tapeconfig
/dev/AFSBACKUP2 2
# cat /usr/afs/backup/CFG_AFSBACKUP2
MOUNT /afs/itp.tugraz.at/common/local/bin/tape_mounter
ASK NO
FILE YES
I am using openafs-1.2.6 on redhat 7.3 with a redhat 2.4.18-5 kernel.
I can generate files bigger than 2GB. The file system is configured as
follows:
# dumpe2fs -h /dev/hdc1
dumpe2fs 1.27 (8-Mar-2002)
Filesystem volume name: <none>
Last mounted on: <not available>
Filesystem UUID: f2aa3170-489f-4d8a-93eb-b963de98b9e2
Filesystem magic number: 0xEF53
Filesystem revision #: 1 (dynamic)
Filesystem features: has_journal filetype needs_recovery sparse_super
Filesystem state: clean
Errors behavior: Continue
...
Any help will be appreciated.
Best regards,
Christian Pfaffel
