Read my lips: That is not an oops.

Trust me, you would know an Oops if you saw one.  It was spew a page
of crap and start with the string "Oops".

afsd is a kernel module.  Just because it compiles does not imply it
will work.  If the kernel changed in such a way that libafs is not
properly initializing certain data structures, it could cause a kernel
to hang or die, even though the module "compiles" without an error.

As I said: downgrade to 2.4.18, which is known to work with AFS...

There is nothing else that you (or I) can do.
