Hi,
Sorry for the previous messages.
Now it will work for doing backup, to summarize:
My afs-server is a amanda-client for a amanda backup server
(which is not a afs-server nor a afs-client).
I install amanda-afs on my afs-server.
I recompile amanda only on my afs-server (and amanda-client) using your
/src-client/selfcheck.c patch and putting the
--with-gnutar=/var/lib/amanad_afs/sbin/gtar-wprapper.pl .
On the backup server I put the following line in the disklist file:
afs.server.host afs:user.arnold comp-user-tar
I do a "amcheck test" and a "amdump test" from the backup server:
this is the following message from amanda:
=======================================
NOTES:
planner: Adding new disk afs.server.host:afs:user.arnold.
taper: tape test kb 352928 fm 1 [OK]
DUMP SUMMARY:

Now there is something on the tape.
The next step is to restore it.
Thank you very much and sorry for the multiple emails I send you
Claude
