[OpenAFS] sun afs server performance questions

i'm setting up some two-way sun e250 afs servers.

will i get better afs server-side performance with the 64 bit
sunos 5.7 kernel instead of the 32 bit one?  if so, are there
any patches that are necessary and/or desirable?

will afs server-side performance on a two-way system going
down-hill with a tailwind be, ah, worse than performance on
an otherwise identical uniprocessor system??
