And read incorrect documentation on the openafs website...
If you're an expert you don't need the docs, us learners rely heavily on
them.
AFS is cryptic enough by itself.
Creating your own documentation from the IBM docs is easy enough and avoids
the issue.

No, this is a reason to use vendor-style packages for distribution..
E.g. rpm, deb, pkgadd, etc.
