[OpenAFS] Please Please help install usging the source file

Dear ALL:
I have downloaded the source distribution .... openafs-1.2.11.tar.gz
tar xzvf /usr/local/openafs-1.2.11.tar.gz
then...
cd openafs-1.2.11
./configure ./configure --with-afs-sysname=3Di386_linux24 =
--with-linux-kernel-headers=3D/usr/src/linux
make
make install
Is that it..... all went fine... i.e no errors ...but it did not create =
a folder i386_linux24
I am running debian linux 3.0.1r1(Woody) with custom kernel 2.4.18
Your help is appreciated
