[OpenAFS] Anyone created AFSDB records using djbdns (a.k.a tinydns) ?

The correct format for this is:

:oc7.org:18:\000\001\005vice2\003oc7\003org\000

The first \000 and \001 specify the other fields that Jeff mentioned, and
the remaining is a portion of the host name, preceded by its length in
hex. (vice2 is 5 characters long, so it is preceded by \005.)
