| The thing which is preventing the release of 1.3.7x as a stable 1.4
| tree is lack of deployment and testing by users. There has been very
| little feedback both positive or negative on the existing releases.
| Without this feedback it is very difficult for us to know whether or
| not it is ready.

Don't know if it's helpful here at the list, but where else?

I use Debiuan Sarge with debian experimental source package of OpenAFS 1.3.74 on
~ kernel 2.6.9
Til yet no problem as client and/or fileserver. No problems with files >4 GB
(OK, on Windows XP SP2 with 1.3.74 the file size is mod 4gig) and til yet
flawless working (if you now the netrestrict file).
More testing prohibited because of no accesable working OpenAFS 1.3.74 rpm for
fedora/RedHat Linux.
I wanted to change our redhat to debian, but we use builtin kerberos 4(?) tokens
for auth and with debian sarge we won't get automatic tokens for users on login :-(
If anyone hs a salvage for this...
