hy ,

i saw this several times ,when i setup a new cell and add some Servers to
it , before configuring NetInfo and NetRestrict .
your server registers with multiple ip addresses in vldb and you make
changes on your ip setup (change the primary ip) this happens , for what
every reason .

i fixed this always with :

delete ale volumes for this server with vos delentry , removed the server
with all old ip addresses with vos changeaddr -oldaddr 1.x.x.x -remove
the i setup my NetRestrict and NetInfo file , that the server is just
registering 1 ip , restart the server
run the salvager , vos syncserv and vos syncvldb and everything is fine .

i have done this multiple times , without any Problems ...

Sven

Subject
[OpenAFS] fs listaddr shows an error

Hi,

please have a look at this :

root@mekong:~ > vos listaddrs -localauth
mekong.alpha
orinocco.alpha
ganges.alpha
vos: could not list the server adresses
vl: Index out of range
root@mekong:~ >

I've got another AFS-server 'nebula'. Shouldn't it appear in
the output of listaddrs, when I do a successful 'vos syncvldb nebula'?
But it doesn't.

Volumes on nebula are accessible as usual, there are no further problems.
I'm just curious, why 'vos listaddrs' gives me such an error-message and
how I could get rid of it.

Thank you.

Best,

Frank
