[OpenAFS] Balance for OpenAFS and linux

Has anyone ported balance (ftp://ftp.andrew.cmu.edu/pub/AFS-Tools/) to
work with OpenAFS and Linux?

None  of  the versions there will  compile.   I'll be glad  to work on
porting it, but it would  be great if someone could  give me a leg up.
Here are the points where the make breaks....
