We are looking at various recovery solutions. One idea we would like
to explore is using SAN snap technology. The idea would be to use SAN
snap technology to recover from IO subsystem failure. This could be a
corruption from the RAID adapter or multiple failures in a RAID
device etc.

If we took snaps of a device which one or more partitions were on,
could we safely restore the device (and therefore the partitions)
from the snaps and still have OpenAFS work correctly? Would we have
to restore the meta databases as well?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.
