[OpenAFS] SuSe is frustrating

Here the 9.3/1.3.82 client works fine (talking to a 1.2.11 server on a
SuSE9.1 box, don't have a server up. But it did compile and run.

I have had a similar problem some time ago. You should do the following:
1. Wait. You don't say whether you log on from within the local network or
over the Internet. Wait maybe five to ten minutes and have ethereal or
tcpdump report what is happening.
2. Try a different cell, e.g. stacken.kth.se and look whether the same
problem occurs.

This is because the afsd interacts directly with a kernel module and that
cannot be removed at that point without taking down the whole kernel. (I
think someone once told me the story like that.)
