I believe this is a Heimdal-ism.  For MIT Kerberos, the command in
kadmin you want is "ktadd".  Actually, make sure you add 
"-e des-cbc-crc:normal" to that ktadd command.

>5) put the MIT kerberos REALM name into the afs configuration file / 
>usr/afs/etc/krb.conf

This step is not required if your realm name and cell name match.  But
it won't hurt anything to put it in there.
