hi folks,
i have ever add the second file server in LAN. now, i would like to add
another additional database and file servers in another LAN. all hosts use
ntp. they have the same time.
when i use the following command:
vos syncvldb -server lupus.tiara.sinica.edu.tw -cell
tiara.sinica.edu.tw-verbose
it appears :
Total entries: 38, Failed to process 0, Changed 0
Could not get the highest allocated volume id from the VLDB
u: not synchronization site (should work on sync site)
Error in vos syncvldb command.
u: not synchronization site (should work on sync site)
to check the server status. it looks normal.
[root@nuage etc]# bos status nuage -long
Instance ptserver, (type is simple) currently running normally.
Process last started at Fri Aug 8 16:40:16 2008 (1 proc starts)
Command 1 is '/usr/afs/bin/ptserver'
Instance fs, (type is fs) currently running normally.
Auxiliary status is: file server running.
Process last started at Fri Aug 8 16:41:17 2008 (2 proc starts)
Command 1 is '/usr/afs/bin/fileserver'
Command 2 is '/usr/afs/bin/volserver'
Command 3 is '/usr/afs/bin/salvager'
Instance vlserver, (type is simple) currently running normally.
Process last started at Fri Aug 8 16:41:52 2008 (1 proc starts)
Command 1 is '/usr/afs/bin/vlserver'
Instance buserver, (type is simple) currently running normally.
Process last started at Fri Aug 8 16:42:16 2008 (1 proc starts)
Command 1 is '/usr/afs/bin/buserver'
i also add an id to this file server. it appears like following:
[root@nuage etc]# vos create nuage.tiara.sinica.edu.tw /vicepa home.test
Could not get an Id for volume home.test
u: not synchronization site (should work on sync site)

Error in vos create command.

does anyone have the standard procedure to add database/file server and
remove database/file server? how could like solve "u: not synchronization
site (should work on sync site)" problem? thank you.
