To determine if the panic is caused by the ZFS, does it work with
-memcache?

The difference of these is the file system for the SERVER, it makes no
difference for the client. The namei SERVER works on ZFS (IMHO). The
inode server needs UFS -nologging. The client can run in diskcache or
memcache which is determined by arguments to afsd.
