[OpenAFS] Empty partitions

I have noticed when I move all the volumes from an AFS file server's 
partition,
there appears to be "left over" crud.

Is it safe to delete the files and directories under the AFSIDat directory?

Or is there anorther way for the file server to clean out the partition?

See example below

[root@foobar]# vos listvol foobar vicepio
