Joe et. al.,
We are running 50 meg, OpenAFS homes on 10.3.2/3 with OpenAFS 1.2.11.
We run a custom /var/db/openafs/etc/config/afsd.options of:
-stat 3000 -dcache 2400 -daemons 5 -volumes 128 -fakestat-all
Also we link ~/Library/Caches and ~/Libary/Application\
Support/Macromedia to /tmp in login hook on every login to avoid out of
space issues.
We have crash logs, panic logs, and or documentation for the following:
1) mv bug well documented on this list and reproducible using
SubEthaEdit. We actually have a fix for this (hacked afs.kext) and are
using it successfully. This may already have been added to the CVS tree.
2) Large file copy panic. Finder drag, cp -r, ditto, etc over about
200-300 meg reproduces every time but copy has to proceed to 200+ mark.
3) Finder Error -36 when drag copy between afs volumes (users.ega to
lck.u.ega). Not a panic but still keeps work from being done.
4) Using Internet Explorer 5.x with any OpenAFS home kernal panics in 4
- 5 min. We had to remove IE from our lab kit.
5) Using AppleWorks 6.x (Carbon) and issuing several page sized cut and
pastes reliably kernal panics.
We are willing to provide this info to whoever needs it and test
resulting code fixes and if desired devote some dev time to the problem
as well.
I hope this helps.
