[OpenAFS] corrupted volumes

Hi,

using a (still Transarc binaries) Solaris 8 server we got a panic today and as
a result a few volumes where the salvager reports something like:

05/03/2001 21:45:00 Scanning inodes on device /dev/md/rdsk/d17...
05/03/2001 21:45:47 SALVAGING VOLUME 536893581.
05/03/2001 21:45:47 user.operator (536893581) updated 05/03/2001 14:00
05/03/2001 21:45:47 Cannot attach orphaned files and directories: Root
directory not found
05/03/2001 21:45:49 Found 743 orphaned files and directories (approx. 4409 KB)
05/03/2001 21:45:49 Salvaged user.operator (536893581): 743 files, 4409 blocks

does anyone know how to re-create this 'root directory' the salvager is
talking about ??
